Details
Jepsy - A male, first caught Aug 25, 2005 at 30 lbs and recaught and re-collared Dec. 2005 at 48 pounds.  This was an 18 lb gain in three months.  Less than one year old at second capture, he is still the largest coyote we have caught.  Part of the Lower Portsmouth Pack.
Valentine - a male, less than one year old when captured, caught and collared Sept 23, 2005 at 22 lbs.  Two black spots on his forepaws.  One of the Beavertail Pack, Jamestown.
Hazard - A male, less than one year old when captured, Sept 30 2005 at 29 lbs.  Part of the Newport Neck Pack.

White-tip and the Center Island Pack, Jamestown

video that includes White-Tip

White-Tip - A maturing male, less than one year old when captured, Dec. 1, 2005 at 38 lbs.  Unusual white tail tip set him apart from all other coyotes.  Part of the North End Pack, Jamestown.
Chase - A male, over a year old when captured, Dec. 9, 2005 at 39 lbs.   He was our first mature male.  Chase is a member of the Center Island Pack (The Reservoir Dogs), Jamestown.
Peckham - A maturing male, less than one year old when captured, Dec. 9, 2005 at 37.5 lbs.  Peckham was almost black and was the first collared from the Peckham Pack, Middletown.  This pack ranges through the Peckham Brothers Quarry, Norman Bird Sanctuary and Sachuest Point Reserve.  The Peckham Pack has become accustomed to preying on sheep.  They got a taste for lamb from winter-killed sheep carcasses disposed of within their range.
Beavertail - A maturing male, less than one year when captured, Jan 22, 2006 at 46.5 lbs.  Another member of the Beavertail Pack, Jamestown.
Trinity - a mature female more than a year old when captured, April 22, 2006 at 36 lbs.  She was lactating (was full of milk) when we caught her.  She was seen with three puppies later in the spring.  Trinity lost a right forefoot to an unknown cause sometime in the late spring but has completely recovered.  She was videotaped flirting with her mate at a deer carcass in late January 2007.  From the Peckham Pack, Middletown.
Blackpoint - A male, just over a year old when captured, May 3, 2006, at 36 lbs.  He is the first coyote captured from the Black Point Pack.
Hustle - A female, under a year old when captured, Sept. 28, 2006 at 25 lbs.  One of the Center Island Pack, Jamestown.
Cardi - A female, more than a year old when captured, Oct. 18, 2006, at 30 lbs.  Her pelage is markedly redder than that of our other coyotes.  She is part of the North Portsmouth Pack.  Last year this group was reported to den on the Carnagie Abby Golf Course.
Decastro - a mature male, more than a year old when captured, Nov. 2, 2006, at 44 lbs.  He has a very large home range.  On capture he appeared to be a member of the North Portsmouth Pack.  He now regularly occupies areas within the home range of the Seabees' Pack in Newport and Middletown.

Seabee - a female, less than a year old when captured, Nov. 14, 2006 at 36 lbs (large for a female her age).  She is a member of the Seabees, a pack that raised 7 puppies on Naval Station Newport this spring.  She was one of three puppies that survived through fall.  At least two were hit by cars.  She and her parents (a black male and a buff colored female) moved to Miantonomi Park, Newport, in late summer where they were fed by nearby residents and neighborhood cats.  Fortunately there were no injuries to people during that period.  She eventually moved in with the South Portsmouth Pack.
Buck - a mature male, less than one year old when captured Jan. 11, 2007, at 41 lbs.  His pelage is light buff with a rusty streak down his mid- back.  His nose seems a bit large. Buck is a member of the Peckham Pack and has been seen with Trinity and her mate.
Lily - a mature female, more than a year old at capture, Jan. 24, 2007, but small at 30 lbs.  She was in estrus when we caught her by Lily Pond.  We expect she will have puppies by April 2007.  She is a member of the Newport Neck Pack.
Rhody -a mature male, just over a year old when captured May 1, 2007, at 44 lbs.  He is a member of the Black Point Pack and looks very much like our 2006 coyote  Blackpoint - who is probably his older brother.
Foxy -probably the alpha (breeding) female of the Beavertail pack, though very small, at 26 lbs.  She may be the mother of Valentine and Beavertail.  We estimate her to be about 4 years old and has healed from a previously broken foreleg.
Quentin -a young-of-the-year male when captured Sept 30, 2007, at 24 lbs. He is probably be a member of the Center Island Pack.
Phantom - a tall rangy male captured July 3, 2009, weighing 42 lbs. He is our first representative of the Phantom Pack that lives north of The Glen on the east side of Aquidneck Island.  The Phantom pack is so named because NBCS scientist suspected they existed but never caught one until Phase 3 of the study in 2009.
Coffee - a 36 lb female about 2 years old captured September 24, 2009.  She is a member of the South Portsmouth pack.  Named after our favorite beans.
